About
Jaye Liu, a filmmaker from China, was born in 2006. She is currently an undergraduate student at USC, majoring in Film and Television Production. As a student, she aims to develop both conceptual acumen and hands-on experience. In the long run, she hopes to tell stories that resonate with people—exploring and shedding light on issues that have been unduly subdued in public discourse. Representing these stories through her filmic lens is not only her passion but also her lifelong calling.
She began making films in 2021 after deciding to pursue a career as a director. Since then, she has independently created over ten short films, including horror films, documentaries, and public service advertisements. Her work has received recognition at various international film festivals. She is an Award Winner at the Oniros Film Awards, Rome International Movie Awards, Sweden Film Awards, and Independent Shorts Awards; a Finalist at the Korea International Short Film Festival; a Nominee at the Indie Short Festival and ARFF Berlin International Film Festival; and an Official Selection at the International New York Film Festival.
